EASTCONN Fingerprinting Services
About This Service
EASTCONN provides fingerprinting for Local Education Agencies and their job applicants, in compliance with Connecticut state law, and also serves organizations outside of Connecticut’s school districts. State law requires every new hire at a local school system — including substitute teachers — to be fingerprinted for a state and national criminal history check, and EASTCONN carries out that screening on districts’ behalf.
Fingerprinting is by appointment only. Call 860-455-0707, email
How It Works
Follow these four steps before and during your fingerprinting appointment.
Pre-register online
Before your appointment, register with the Connecticut Criminal History Request System (CCHRS) through the pre-enrollment portal: PreEnrollment (idemia.io).
Save your Applicant Tracking Number
When pre-enrollment is complete, a confirmation screen will display your Applicant Tracking Number. Bring the barcode and Applicant Tracking Number with you — you’ll need it at your appointment.
Gather your documents
Bring one government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID), one completed form from each approved Board of Education, charter, or private school, and your Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) Fingerprint Permission Form.
Pay the service fee
The fingerprinting fee is $43.37 (effective 4/1/26). EASTCONN accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Apple Pay only — cash is not accepted.
