Students at QMC can earn college credits in a number of ways.

Earning College Credits directly from QVCC

With our school located on the campus of Quinebaug Valley Community College, students at QMC have direct access to college courses and a college setting. Through coursework taken during their 9th and 10th-grade years, students are prepared to take courses at the college level. QMC students will take two (4) college credit courses at QVCC (2 per semester) during their junior and senior year – free of charge - and some students even can take more courses at QVCC during their senior year. With the rising costs of college education, these transferable credits will not only give students a jump start on their college degrees but can also represent significant cost savings to families!

Early College Experience (ECE)

Students can take ECE classes at QMC. ECE courses are college-level courses offered by the University of Connecticut that allow students to gain high school and college credits in one course. From the UConn ECE website: UConn Early College Experience (UConn ECE) is a concurrent enrollment program that allows motivated high school students to take UConn courses at their high schools for both high school and college credit. Every course taken through UConn ECE is equivalent to the same course at the University of Connecticut. Students benefit by taking college courses in a setting that is both familiar and conducive to learning. The University of Connecticut certifies high school teachers to serve as UConn ECE Instructors and teach UConn courses.

Established in 1955, UConn Early College Experience is the nation's longest-running concurrent enrollment program and is accredited by The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships.
