Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) address fine motor skills, visual motor skills, adaptive skills and sensory processing needs for individual students and for classroom support of Scientific Research-Based Interventions (SRBI). Service delivery models include direct services, consultation, sensorimotor groups, handwriting instruction and support for modifications of classroom tasks and life skills. EASTCONN therapists are available for full-time or part-time assignments.

School-based Occupational Therapists work as part of the educational team to support preschool through young adult students in the following areas of development:

  • Fine motor
  • Visual motor integration
  • Visual perceptual skills
  • Sensory processing
  • Prevocational skills
  • Life Skills
