EASTCONN staff provides information, on-site consultation and training to preschool and kindergarten programs as they pursue accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Since the system began in 1985, NAEYC accreditation has provided a powerful tool through which early childhood professionals, families, policy makers and others concerned about the quality of early childhood education, can evaluate programs, compare them with professional standards, strengthen their programs and commit to ongoing evaluation and improvement. Support is also provided by the Accreditation Quality Improvement System (AQIS) to programs licensed by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. Visit www.naeyc.org.
