The EASTCONN Mobile STEM Lab is EASTCONN's newest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning resource for teachers and students in pre-K through grade 12. The Mobile STEM Lab travels to schools and recreational areas throughout Connecticut. On the Mobile STEM Lab, students enjoy access to sophisticated, state-of-the-art STEM equipment and engage in learning experiences that address Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) topics, such as watersheds, biodiversity, climate change, feeding the hungry, water waste treatment and robotics. The EASTCONN Mobile STEM Lab also provides training, summer camps and workshops for students and teachers.

Benefits: The EASTCONN Mobile STEM Lab offers students access to state-of-the-art robotics, manufacturing, technology and science equipment. Students typically use a range of equipment, including: iPads for interactive work, data collection and data analysis; Vernier probes for water experiments and water testing; and microscopes for in-depth analysis of micro-organisms. The Lab also provides interior flat-screen monitors, an exterior television monitor to maximize viewing opportunities and a weather station. The Mobile Lab's high-quality learning experiences are a boon for students and teachers in schools with limited STEM resources, and for those wishing to have field-based laboratory experiences.
