Regional Transition Services assists young adult students who have disabilities, ages 18-21, as they transition from school to career, community and/or college settings and learn to manage other adult responsibilities. The individualized life-skills curriculum emphasizes technology tools, vocational, educational, community, related services and independent skills necessary for students to experience success and fulfillment in their jobs, communities and in later years. We utilize the CT Core Transition Skills as a framework and our multidisciplinary team provides a full range of learning opportunities and services to students through local and state partnerships.
Benefits: Regional Transition Services prepares students to transition to a variety of community-based, vocational, educational and independent-living experiences, while providing an encouraging environment that helps each student reach their post-school outcome goals. Located on the campus of Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson, opportunities are available for eligible students to take a college class. There is direct access to NECCOG Transit routes.
