Hampton CT, May 11, 2018 – EASTCONN’s Adult Education program is accepting registrations for summer GED (English or Spanish), basic skills, English-as-a-second-language (ESL), credit diploma program (CDP) and citizenship classes. Classes are free of charge and will be held at EASTCONN’s Learning Centers in Willimantic (Tyler Square, 1320 Main St.) and Danielson (562 Westcott Rd.) every Tues. and Thurs., from July 10 to Aug. 9, 2018. Morning, afternoon and evening options are available.
Eligible students must be at least 17 years old, not currently enrolled in high school and reside in one of the following towns: Andover, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Columbia, Eastford, Hampton, Hebron, Killingly, Lebanon, Marlborough, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Scotland, Stafford, Sterling, Thompson, Union, Windham or Woodstock.
Also offered throughout the summer months is J.E.T. (Jobs, Employment and Training), a free career pathways program for 17- to 24-year-olds. J.E.T. students work with a career advisor, job developer and teacher on high school completion, job training, work readiness skills and/or a job search. Eligible students are supported with financial assistance for child care, transportation, driver's education and other support services. The National External Diploma Program (NEDP), a self-paced, one-on-one high school completion program, is offered throughout the summer months by arrangement.
