Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) provide opportunities for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients and other low-income individuals to enter and advance along four health care career pathways (patient care and nursing, emergency medicine, community health and patient navigation, and health information management) through:
1. A work readiness and contextualized basic skills boot camp (EASTCONN)
2. Occupational training resulting in a community college certificate (QVCC and TRCC)
3. Intensive, person-centered case management and other supportive services
4. Work-based learning opportunities
5. Job placement assistance


Benefits: Participants will receive short-term health career training at no cost. The program includes wrap-around services, including student support funds and job placement.
