Transitions for 21st Century Careers

This multi-faceted program provides support and guidance for current adult education students as well as adult education graduates. These services include: embedded classroom support for career pathway development within the GED, CDP and ESL programs; program-wide transitions events; visits to local post-secondary programs with appropriate referrals and counseling; guest speakers; and contextualized academic instruction in manufacturing and health care content areas. Transition Coaches engage students early and support them throughout the process of exploring, identifying and transitioning to appropriate post-secondary experiences whether employment, training, military, entrepreneurship or college enrollment.

Benefits: Upon completion, students will have been introduced to and explored a wide range of careers within the manufacturing and health care industries in order to develop their own individualized career pathway. Students will develop a career plan and a portfolio that will help them to transition into work and/or post-secondary education.
