Hazardous Materials Support & Training for Schools

EASTCONN (State License #000083) provides services to school systems as required by the State of Connecticut Department of Health, and Federal Environmental Protection Agency's Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). Services include, but are not limited to: building surveys for the purpose of identifying and managing asbestos-containing materials; development of Asbestos Management Plans for new or existing facilities used for educational purposes; three-year reinspections and reassessments of known or suspected asbestos-containing materials; required 2-hour asbestos awareness training for maintenance and custodial personnel; and Hazardous Communications training.


Benefits: School systems can ensure that they are in compliance with state regulations concerning asbestos, without the expense of having an asbestos expert on staff. Services are provided on an as-needed basis. Timely report filing by EASTCONN ensures that all regulations are met without tying up staff time or worrying about missing deadlines. Employee training helps to ensure a safer workplace and school for students and staff.
