Welcome to Mosaic
The Mosaic Program is an effective, experientially-based, diversity training program for 7th - 12th grade students. The program brings together students in a process that integrates awareness and skill-building activities to deal with interpersonal conflicts and create communities of respect. Participants identify a school or community problem that requires research, creativity and inventive-solutions; they develop action plans which action teams implement. Team-building skills to help realize the plan are promoted through an intensive series of multicultural awareness, appreciation, and problem-solving activities. Graduates represent a talented, trained team of "diversity specialists", able to use new strategies and convey enhanced awareness to students back at their own schools, as well as in their communities. They develop team building and problem-solving skills through authentic projects, valued by community agents. Participants form a cadre of student leaders that generate and conduct activities to promote and celebrate diversity in their schools and communities.
