Guest Speaker:
 Lisa Marcinkowski, Mystic Seaport’s Director of Education, will speak on science resources that Mystic Seaport can provide to schools, for instance, grant-funded outreach programs, new science programs on weather, forces & motion, and the solar system; and various archival resources.

As Director of Education, Lisa is responsible for overseeing school field trips, outreach programs, overnight programs, Elderhostel programs, summer camp programs and special event activities. She has a BA in English from the University of Connecticut and a MA in Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program in Cooperstown, NY. Prior to coming to Mystic Seaport in 2005, she was the Education Coordinator for nearly 10 years at the Hagley Museum in Wilmington, DE. Lisa has had experience creating science-based museum education programs on simple machines, materials science, weather and forces & motion.
 

The Science Council is open to all educators working in science or those who would like more information about science education.
