EASTCONN Customer Service Academy Funded by Walmart

Employers and Business Owners

EASTCONN's Customer Service Academy is recruiting eastern Connecticut employers to participate in a new, free, online customer service training/hiring program, made possible by a generous grant from Walmart.

The Academy offers your employees free training to improve their customer service skills and soft skills. Participation will help prepare employees for entry-level jobs and professional advancement. The free program is available to any business in eastern Connecticut. it is administered by EASTCONN and underwritten by Walmart.

This program is also recruiting local businesses to host 60-hour internships for our unemployed program participants, providing them with opportunities to use their new skills.

Customer Service Academy Training

The 50-hour Customer Service online courses will teach participants the skills that are valued by today's workforce. Classes will also prepare participants for the nationally recognized Customer Service Credentials (25 hours; customizable for employers' specific needs and availability).

  • External Customer Service
  • Diffusing Angry Customers
  • And much more

Advanced Customer Service and Sales Academy Training

This 50-hour Advanced Customer Service and Sales training includes preparation for the nationally recognized Advanced Customer Service Credentials.

Course content includes:

  • Preparation for Selling
  • Gaining Customer Commitment and Closing the Sale
  • Developing and Implementing a Sales Follow-up Plan
  • And More

Customer Service Academy offers incentives to participants, such as child care reimbursement, transportation reimbursement, and Walmart gift cards.

Customer Service Academy For Job Seekers

EASTCONN's Customer Service Academy invites eastern Connecticut adults to participate in a new, free, online customer service training program, made possible by a generous grant from Walmart. This is a 5-week, online class with 2 check-ins per week. There are NO income eligibility requirements to participate in the Customer Service Academy. Participants attend for FREE, thanks to the Walmart grant. 

The Customer Service Academy offers free skills training for jobs in:

  • Advanced customer service
  • Computer Skills

The Customer Service Academy also offers:

EASTCONN Customer Service Academy Frequently Asked Questions

Customer Service Academy has Chromebooks to loan to anyone who doesn't have the technology.

Ther is NO cost to attend the Customer Service Academy. All services are provided absolutely free, thanks to the Walmart grant.
