In late February, EASTCONN’s Arts at the Capitol Theater (ACT) magnet high school held a special assembly to recognize the recent video work of student Mark DiMauro, of Lebanon. The ACT senior wrote and produced “The King 13,”a documentary about local NASCAR racing legend Ted Christopher, who was killed in a plane crash in fall of 2017. DiMauro produced the film for his Historical Documentary video class at ACT, featuring archived footage of Christopher’s local NASCAR races and interviews with his crew and colleagues. The film was originally shown in January at ACT’s VideoFest, after which it came to the attention of Christopher’s widow, Quinn Christopher. Mrs. Christopher attended the ACT assembly, where the film was aired for students, faculty and DiMauro’s family and friends. Mrs. Christopher presented DiMauro with a 2017 feature-win trophy from one of her husband’s local races. Learn more: ACT A/V teacher Dan Boisvert, email@example.com.
