Autism Services
The EASTCONN interdisciplinary Autism Team will work with LEAs (individual and consortia) to create individualized programming or support for students placed on the autism spectrum. Customized student programming may be part- or whole-day. An interdisciplinary team of autism experts is available for student-specific consultation onsite.

Woodstock Academy: Cooperative Resources Program
The Department of Cooperative Resources is a unique collaborative program between Woodstock Academy and EASTCONN. A range of services for high school aged students with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities and other disabling conditions is offered. Individual service plans are developed via the Planning and Placement Team process. Special education teachers work as case managers with individual students to facilitate student growth in identified areas.

Benefits:

  • Students receive individualized support in targeted areas.
  • Students remain at the Academy while receiving services.
  • Parent communication is ongoing.

Young Adult Program (YAP)
The Young Adult Program is a unique community-based transitional educational program designed to assist students, aged 18 to 21 with intellectual disabilities, to make the transition from school to work and other adult responsibilities. The life skills curriculum places emphasis on vocational, community and independent skills necessary for students to experience success and fulfillment in their jobs, communities, and later years. A multidisciplinary team provides services with instructional activities based on an Individualized Education and Transition Plan developed for each students. Activities integrate appropriate social skills, behavior and communication in real-life situations such as using stores, banks, restaurants, landromats, public transit transportation, and more. For students exiting school services, close collaboration with with DMR and other private service providers is the key component of the program.
