High School Credentialing
EASTCONN offers two different options for adults, 16 and older, who are seeking a high school credential: the GED Diploma and the Adult Credit High School Diploma.

  • The GED test consists of a timed, five-part, multiple-choice test on science, social studies, mathematics, reading, and writing (which also requires an essay). To earn a GED Diploma, students must obtain both a minimum score on each subtest and a minimum total score, as well as produce an acceptable essay. The GED is offered in both English and Spanish.

  • The Adult Credit High School Diploma option allows students to combine previously earned high school credits with adult education courses, independent study and projects, documented employment and community service to fulfill state requirements for an EASTCONN high school diploma.

Benefits: Students are able to identify the high school completion option that best matches their individual needs and learning capacity.

Individually designed transition plans help older students prepare for placement in vocational technical schools, the workplace, post-high school education or other types of post-secondary programs.
