EASTCONN administers this Federal program serving over 460 eligible children and their families. Programs are operated both by EASTCONN as well as delegate agencies. EASTCONN operates programs in Vernon and Plainfield.

Head Start: Plainfield
The EASTCONN Plainfield Head Start Program serves 42 eligible children and their families in the Plainfield area. The program offers both home-based and center-based options for preschool children. Head Start programs combine sound developmentally appropriate school-readiness curriculum with a focus on literacy with medical, dental, and social service supports for income-eligible children and families.

Benefits: Highly qualified staff support children with developmentally appropriate support which prepares them for school success. Health, mental health, nutrition, dental, and social services are also provided to support children and families.

Head Start: Vernon
The EASTCONN Head Start Program serves 79 eligible children in the Vernon area. The program has several center-based options for toddlers and preschoolers. The program combines sound, developmentally appropriate school-readiness curriculum with a focus on literacy with medical, dental, and social services for income-eligible children and their families.

Benefits: Classrooms are staffed with highly qualified personnel who provide children with developmentally appropriate support which prepares them for school success. Health, mental health, nutrition, dental, and social services are also provided to support children and families.
