Cooperative Purchasing
Schools and municipalities can join a Cooperative to jointly purchase a variety of frequently used items such as paper, food and other cafeteria items, custodial and office supplies, educational supplies, health and safety supplies, and oil. The Cooperative identifies the commodities to be purchased together, reviews specifications and prepares bid tabulations. The Cooperative's Bid Committee, composed of one representative from each participating school system, makes the bid awards. Organizations that elect to participate in the Cooperative agree to purchase 70% of their supplies from the awarded vendors.

Benefits:

  • The purchasing power of an organization of any size is enhanced through cooperation. Quality goods are made available at lower cost.
  • The necessity of generating dozens of local bids, and the cost of advertising is eliminated.
  • Member organizations save time on meeting legal bid requirements.
  • Participants share the expertise of experienced bidders.

Meeting Facilitation Services
Staff consultants are available to organizations that need an external facilitator to plan and lead special meetings, discussion groups, focus groups, and problem-solving or planning sessions. Services include: agenda planning and design; meeting facilitation; and meeting records production. Groups may also be trained in meeting management and facilitation tools and processes. As a follow-up to this training, consultants are available as observers giving feedback to the group facilitator for the purpose of continuous improvement. As a result of this training process, groups will develop internal capacity to facilitate future meetings independent of external facilitators.

Benefits:

  • Meetings are shorter in duration and produce better and clearer outcomes.
  • With planning assistance, the right participants are included and the agenda is designed to ensure that all meeting participants are contributing appropriately.
  • Clear meeting records are produced to document decisions made and action steps that need to be taken as a result of the meeting.
