There are birds in the distance
singing their daily song,
hoping for the best of life today.
When it happened, the eggs
were ready to hatch,
ready to live a free life.
The mom was waiting for them
but she grew hungry.
She had to eat.
“Just a moment,” she thought,
gliding through familiar trees,
while places she knew
grew older around her.
