Seven lost—
in the middle of December frost.
Vibrant colors attract attention,
waiting in a forest of dead branches and weeds,
alone, even though together,
still alone,
an army of green spears scare
the seven lost—
leaves trap them in,
no escape or return,
looking, thinking of home.
