EASTCONN, in collaboration with our local school districts, received
more than $1.4 million dollars in Interdistrict Grants in the 2005-2007
round of funding through the Connecticut Department of Education.
The programs selected for funding serve more than 4,500 students
in 32 participating districts. Students of all ages benefit from
these grants, not just locally but statewide. Each program is designed
to increase student awareness, understanding and appreciation of
diversity. Please see the EASTCONN Web site for information on specific interdistrict
grants or contact Nancy Vitale, 860-455-0707, nvitale@eastconn.org
EASTCONN Adventure is an important component of Interdistrict programs
and is committed to encouraging students to value differences in
themselves and others. Adventure activities provide opportunities
for developing strengths and insights and allow students to appreciate
differences and commonalities among people, culture, and societies.

| "I learned that meeting new people
and having to work with them to solve a problem is more difficult
than it seems. I love meeting new people, so it was awesome
that we had new people in our group."
