1. What types of
programs can EASTCONN Adventure provide?
EASTCONN’S Adventure Program provides one day or multi
day experiential adventure programs adapted for all age level
groups. Please see “What is a typical day
like?” for sample intineraries. Activity options include
a portable adventure day, indoor activities, initiatives, a
high or low ropes challenge, orienteering, rock climbing, hiking,
environmental education activities, service learning projects,
overnight camping, and other adventure activities. Appropriate
for large and small groups, the experiential activities are
designed to explore team building, communication, diversity,
trust, cooperation, problem solving and most of all, having
fun.

2. If I’m participating
in the ropes course, what should I know?
Our programs are designed to build self confidence and strong
teams for all members, regardless of their physical strength,
gender, or age. Ensuring that all group members can participate
in some way is part of the process in custom designing programs.
We’ll provide more detailed information about what to
expect and how best to prepare. Please contact

4. What are some
program options for my group?
Activity options include portable adventure days, indoor activities,
initiatives, a high or low ropes challenge,
orienteering, rock climbing, hiking, environmental education
activities, service learning projects, and other adventure activities.
We are creative, flexible, and open to providing activities
that work for your group.

5. What is a typical
day like?
A sample Portable Adventure day program, which could be adapted
for all ages, could look like this:
- Arrival, introductions, and goals and expectations for
the program.
- Icebreakers, large group activities, “start the day
in a fun way!”
- Building trust.
- Team building and problem solving activities.
Depending on the needs of your group, we can focus on any or
all of the following:
- Teambuilding
- Communication
- Cooperation
- Conflict Resolution
- Building Trust
- Problem Solving
- Curriculum Specific
- Fun
A sample day on the low ropes course,
which would be appropriate for middle school, high school, and
adult groups could look like this:
- Arrival, introductions, goals & expectations for the
day
- Icebreakers, large group field activities
- Trust building, spotting techniques
- Low ropes activities on our challenging
multi-element course
- Taking what you learned today back to the classroom/ on
the field/ as a leader/ in the office?
- Celebration and recognition!

6. Can we plan a
program at any time of the year?
Yes. Our low ropes course is open year round. We also conduct
high ropes and rock climbing programs throughout the year. EA
staff will come to your facility at any time of the year for
portable adventure days facilitating team building activities.

all fitness levels and comfort in the outdoors?
Yes. Our programs are designed to build self confidence and

8. What should I bring? What do I wear?
We will provide all of the equipment for the activities. We
advise that you wear layered, comfortable clothing and
closed-toe shoes (sneakers or hiking boots are best).
We recommend wearing sunscreen and insect repellant for outdoor
programs.

9. What are the fees?
The cost of the program will vary depending on the group size,
length of the program, and objectives. Our prices are competitive
with outdoor education industry standards. For more information
